Wild...




This picture shows the volcano on the island of of Matau just as it is erupting, as seen from the International Space Station. You can clearly see the shockwave as it pushes the clouds away. You can also see the pyroclastic flow as it is flowing down the volcano at upwards of 130 MPH. The white stuff at the top of the clouds is condensed water vapor that has accumulated from the intense heat of the surrounding volcanic ash.
